The new retraining programme for automotive mechatronics technicians started in Kerpen on March 1, 2021, in cooperation with the customer SEAT Deutschland GmbH and the German Employment Agency. This is the first time that the retraining program was held at the Kerpen location and it will last 28 months for the current total of eight participants. An 8-week preparatory measure preceded the programme. A second preparatory measure began at the same time as the start of the retraining. The participants from this measure have the opportunity to start retraining in May after they have completed the course successfully.
In the retraining program, participants learn everything about motor vehicles in general, both in theory and in practice. . A 2 x 3-month internship at SEAT’s partner companies consolidates the knowledge gained through direct experience in the company and in the workshop.
For the successful completion of the retraining, two exams (written and practical) are taken at the responsible Chamber of Crafts. Preparation for the exams takes place at steep as well as at the HWK/Innung.
