On the 27th of April, the Future Day 2017 took place in Lower Saxony. That day, pupils between grades 5 to 10 were allowed to gain first impressions of the daily work of companies, universities and institutions.
The steep GmbH also offered an insight into itswork. Two students, who attend the fifth grade of a secondary school, were welcomed by steep employee Sascha Ottersberg. The boys were allowed to observe the drone-based measurements at the remotely operated technical platoon 244 “Brockzetel” as well as at the ASR-S Military Airport Wittmund on the radar system HADR. Thus, they were able to explore the influence of wind power plants on radar systems as part of the WERAN project.
The two participants were also allowed to gain some practical experience. With the help of Mr. Ottersberg, they built a simple electronic circuit board and were able to carry out measurements with an oscilloscope. The day provided the students with a small insight into the Radar Systems Support of the steep GmbH.
